and before we jump right into today's content

I want to ask you a question...

How many of you know a woman who’s sailed thru an easy, healthy menopause with almost no symptoms.  think about it for just a moment - and how many of you know someone who’s had it really rough with tons of menopausal symptoms??  or a woman who’s menopause never seems to really end? and the sx go on for decades? maybe it was you mom or a sister or friend or teacher.. because i definitely know all these types of women

So what’s the difference between the women who have an easy menopause and the women who have a really hard one…

early in my practice.. I had women who got rid of almost all their menopause symptoms easily with just a little help from acupuncture or herbs or various other menopause remedies..  and then i had another group of women who got very little relief from the same treatments - what was the difference?

I spent almost a decade researching this -what did the women who had an easy menopause or easily got relief from menopause symptoms have in common.  turns out - they all had one thing in common - they had the right diet & lifestyle to support hormonal balance!!  

here’s what happens to your hormones during a healthy menopause = ideally they go from here -the high normal levels from before menopause to here - the normal lower levels after menopause.

and if in fact they are all nice and high and even when you begin AND HERE'S THE KEY they stay even w/each other while they cange - YOU have pretty much no sx.

BUT if you start off with them uneven.. OR with some of them already depleted and low.. and then they drop and go below what would be low normal they go too low - OR they get out of balance with each other - and= THIS IS WHAT GIVES YOU SX.  its not menopause its not just that they're changing or just that your hormones levels are lower..  that causes men sx.  In fact - your body was designed to go through this change in balance and without any major sx.

so basically - during menopause - if your body STARTS with nice healthy hormones levels  can make more hormones whenever one drops too low too fast - to bring things back into balance - you'll feel fine.  before menopause keeping those hormones balanced just meant an adjustment a few times  a month.. but now during menopause while your hormones are changing so fast - your body has to make a lot of adjustments quickly and often - instead of 5 times a month its like 5 times a day!! its like playing a video game at a higher difficulty level - trying to balance things while they change instead of just keep them balance while they are staying the same.. and to do this your body needs an AMPLE source of hormone building blocks to choose from!! a great basic diet is what gives you the main building blocks - and special menopause superfoods give you lots more of the rare micronutrients you need especially for making these hormones.

so - how can you help your body - how can you give it what it needs for a healthy menpause? there are a few things you can do.

one is to prepare for an easier menopause by replenishing your energy reserves and building up your hormones levels to a healthy high normal  before perimenopause or during early perimenopause.  because as i said,, if you have all your hormones levels at healthy high normal going into menopause - you’re more likely to have an easy time with minimal symptoms. I'm going to put a link below this video to another video i have on how to prevent an early menopause that gives lots of great tips on preparing for an easier menopause.

… And then during menopause - you want to get in those building blocks so your body can make hormones anytime.. anywhere - there are a few good strategies of this - but the best and absolutely the one you want to do first is get the right foods & superfoods in your diet each day -i recommend starting with ample healthy fats like nuts, seeds, and avocados - low fat is not the way to go right now -  - and lots of fruit & vegetables - these need to be a big percentage of your diet  - and i recommend using menopause superfoods - like 2T of fresh ground flax seeds every day, which is one of my absolute favorites!    

So to recap:

To have a healthy menopause - start menopause with your energy replenished and your hormones at healthy high normal levels (ie don't go into menopause exhausted after burning the candle at both ends, wearing yourself out, and not eating right)

During menopause include lots of healthy fats, fruit & veg in your diet plus menopause superfoods like fresh ground flax seeds to make sure your body has an ample supply of hormonal building blocks - so it can adjust hormones levels quickly and often to keep things in balance while those hormones levels are changing.

I hope that helped you understand how you can give your body what it needs so that it can do exactly what it was designed to do - which is get through menopause easily with minimal sx.
