How To Turn Herbal Side Effects Into The Key To Healthier Aging

In this blog I'm going to show you how something usually considered "bad" ie - side effects from herbal remedies - can actually be the exact information you need to increase the benefits you're getting from your herbal remedies!

This information can help increase the relief you're getting from menopausal discomforts, and it can be the key to healthier aging.

It can help you take the anti-aging support you're getting from your herbs to the next level.

So today's topic is something you probably haven't heard before, and to make sense of it we need to take a step back and look at it with some perspective.

Because when you're taking an herbal remedy, and after taking it successfully for six months it suddenly stops working OR you suddenly start getting a side effect from it...

You're hardwired to think that's a bad thing.  But it might not be - at all.

When you look at what Chinese herbal remedies can do for you during and after menopause there are 3 main ways they can help.

  1. They can help increase your YIN/watery energies for cooling, soothing relief from hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, and dryness sagging skin and thinning greying hair.
  2. They can help increase your YANG/fiery energy for stronger bones, increased muscle mass, energy, libido, and metabolism.
  3. And they can help free the flow of liver qi for better detoxification reduced stress, irritability, bloating, and mood swings.

Sure you want all three but...

Eventually you want full support from herbs in all three of these areas.

You want the healthy aging benefits of yin - younger looking skin and hair feeling cool and juicy and calm with great memory and sleep.

You want the yang benefits - strong bones and muscles and easy weight loss.

And you want your liver happy- free and easy attitude free of stress and with excellent detoxification.

You definitely want all three, but you can't just do them all at once, and this is where the value of the side effects comes in.

The side effects help tell you what to work on first - what to add in second - and when you can start using all three.

Why can't you just use all three?

Why cant you just use all 3 or use them in any order you want?

Well for example, say you're having 15 hot flashes a day due to low yin energy and you're gaining weight due to low yang energy.

If you take herbs to increase your YANG energy because it can help with metabolism and weight loss, well, herbs that increase your Yang energy are warm or hot.  They can turn your 15 hot flashes a day into 25 hot flashes a day and disrupt your hormonal balance even more, which can cause your body to store more calories as fat - the opposite effect from what you wanted.

The problem here is you're using the herbs in the wrong order.  It works better if you build up your Yin energy first THEN build up your Yang energy.

Remember when I said different herbs can help in different ways?

Well the TWO most common problems women run into with herbal remedies are

#1 - using herbs to support those three things in the wrong order

OR

#2 not realizing when the thing they've been working on is better and it's time to switch to the next one.

The common problems caused by these are:

#1.  If you increase yin or yang energy when you have an energy traffic jam... Increasing your energy without helping to moving energy will lead to a bigger energy traffic jam

#2.  Increasing yang fire energy before increasing yin water energy.  It feels much better to increase yin first - then bring yang up to match it.

Both of these common mistakes,  #1 increasing your energy without moving energy - and #2 increasing yang fire energy before building up yin water energy, can lead to side effects and lack of results.

What does this mean?

It means you have to do things in the right order. You want to increase your cooling, watery YIN energy first to get those hot flashes under good control. Then, when they are, you start increasing the herbs to support your YANG energy and it will go right to strengthening your metabolism, energy, bones, and libido without causing heat or side effects.

And you want to help keep your energy moving as much as needed while you're building it up.

With these techniques you can layer your benefits one on top of the next until you're getting all the benefit of supported yin, supported yang, and freely flowing and moving energy.

And wow does that feel good and give the kind of healthy aging feeling that Chinese medicine has been studying and working on for thousands of years.

As Maoshing Ni says in his book Second Spring, "Chinese medicine affords opportunities to slow or reverse the aging process.

And I've just given you a glimpse into how it does that and why many women who use herbal remedies fail to get the full benefit possible.
