Three Steps to Smooth, Soft, Touchable Arms and Legs

Today I have a quick tip for you - my three steps to smooth soft skin on your arms and legs - AND you can do this easily and at home with all-natural, chemical-free, hormone-friendly products.

The 3 steps that will transform your skin

Step 1: Exfoliate

This will remove the layer of dead skin cells on the surface.  If you don't do this, your moisturizer can't penetrate and do its job.

I have two methods for you (watch the video for more details)

#1: Use a wet washcloth - pour body oil onto it - and scrub your wet arms and legs with it in the bath or shower

#2: Use a body scrub.  In the video I explain how to make your own or find my favorite

Step 2: Moisturize Deeply

After exfoliation - while your skin is STILL WET - apply a body oil.  In the video I mention lots of my faves.  Then pat or air dry.

As for why an herbalist like me is even talking about skin care...

#1 - I like to help you celebrate your over-50 fabulousness

#2 - Using skin care that doesn't contain hormone-disrupting chemicals is an important part of the hormone-friendly lifestyle that help your body balance hormones naturally.

And bonus - it'll help your herbal remedies for menopause (my specialty) to work even better.  Check out my free resources so I can help you learn to start balancing your hormones naturally right now.

Step 3: Seal in Moisture

After the body oil, while your skin is still damp, apply shea butter or a rich body cream.  (Watch the video for tips on how to use the shea butter.)

  • Hi Dana. Thanks for the video. I’m going to try this. You mentioned making your own tinted or simmering lotion. I’d love to know the recipe for that. Also I’d love I. The future any tips I. Natural hair care for yin deficient hair.

    • Hi Dawn!! Sorry it took me so long to reply (had a glitch and didnt see these comments!)

For tinted or shimmering lotion you can
1 – put shimmer on under your regular foundation or
2 – MIX a mineral powder color or shimmer with either a moisturizer, sunscreen, or an oil like rosehip seed oil – just mix a little of each in your hand – more powder = more coverage – and spread it on!

the eyeshadow i mix the mineral powder color (usually a shimmer) with aloe vera gel then jsut put it on with a finger or brush.

For yin deficient hair – DEFINITELY build up the yin from the inside outthat will work better than anything else long term. I recommend using herbal remedies!! In the meantime – a great diet with collagen and condition your hair plenty and dont wash it harshly or too often.
